Should Women Carry Condoms?

By :The Fabulous Mariah HuQ

I stumbled across a survey on the web the other day. The survey asked men should women carry condoms or whether it was the male’s responsibility. While 71% of female readers felt it was their responsibility to bring a condom, I was amazed at the answers some men were giving. Many men considered a woman to be promiscuous or slutty if she carried condoms around. One guy said, A single woman who has a stash in her goody drawer at home is somewhat of a turnoff. I appreciate women who make it known that they will not have sex without condoms, but they should look to the man to be prepared should they decide to be intimate.”

It appeared that a lesser amount of men actually thought a woman was being safe by protecting herself and her partner by packing the condoms.  Some men even went so far to suggest that a woman carrying a condom is emasculating…WTH!

As a woman, we all know that men will come up with any excuse to get it in without a life vest, including the “Dang, I forgot my condom, or I ran out,” excuse. So, if she really wants to have sex and you are “out”  everyone wins, and the party keeps on rolling.  If we are in an age where disease runs rampant and you should be questioning your partners stats and bill of health before doin’ the do, why would promiscuity be the first thing that comes to mind? Is promiscuity a question because she comes prepared, meaning she could have sex at the drop of a dime? Do good girls not carry condoms? It seems to me that we are back in that old double standard era again.  If a woman carries a condom she is a whore and if a man does he is being smart?

Regardless of who brings the protection, it should be brought and used. There are so many diseases that are prominent in todays's society that you shouldn't really question who brought the protection. A better question is do you prefer to be protected or infected????
