Yes you deserve a Mommy Makeover! Tummytuck and all!

By" The Fabulous Mariah HuQ

Ok ladies I had a special request to discuss whether or not new Mommies should consider Plastic surgery to re-sculpture the post-preggo body. Well this was an easy topic for me. LOL I say yes.. If you are healthy and can afford it why not? I'm all for people looking and feeling great!

Based on the research I've done many women are opting in for what is now referred to as the "Mom Job"this plastic surgery trio includes a tummy tuck, a breast lift and liposuction. Costing anywhere between $10,000-$30,000, the mom job offers women who have just given birth,  a chance to do another overhaul on their bodies. Talk about Quick but expensive fix.. LOL Now just as anything else that sounds to good to be true there is always a catch.. Well the catch here is there are many risk associated with plastic surgery. Some of the things I would think of if I decided to go under the knife to have a much needed breast lift are:

  1. Have you done all you can do to change your physical appearance? (In my case yes I'm over support bras they are uncomfortable and most of the best ones make you look like a grandma!)
  2. Cost.. Plastic Surgery is the equivalent of buying a car.. It is definitely a big ticket item. You have to ask yourself what is your physical appearance worth to you in terms of dollars?
  3. Goals.Ok here is the issue I have with many people that have cosmetic surgery, especially liposuction.. They have unrealistic goals and don't realize they still need to change their eating habits and exercise in order to keep the excess fat off. Liposuction in particular, has a reputation for not lasting a long time; the remaining fat cells settle into the space that was worked on and, before you know it, the love handles are back. WOW (you spent 10k on a surgery to gain the weight right back!)
  4. Risk..Call it Plastic, cosmetic or reconstructive but the fact still remains that it is surgery and like any surgery many risk are involved. Some of those are infection, bleeding, blood clots, tissue death, delayed healing, risk of permanent disfigurement, paralysis, a host of anasthesia risk, and last but not least DEATH. (silence)
  5. Rewards are my favorite.. The most obvious is a more appealing physical appearance, a boost in self esteem and confidence and an overall better quality of life. These may not seem like a lot of rewards, but keep in mind that all the things mentioned here have a snowball effect in every aspect of your life from work to the bedroom.

No one is born perfect; in fact, perfection doesn't exist. But if you feel you can get as close to perfection as possible through plastic surgery, be well informed before deciding to go under the knife. The rewards can be great, but definite risks are involved. You just have to figure out if your rewards outweight your risk.. Either way Love yourself and know that we all have flaws and there is no quick fix. The most pertinent and permanent fix is you loving you regardless.  Now thats the kind of Fabulous makeover that every mommy needs, and it's free!

I have been on the fence about surgery.I think I am gonna go ahead and do it. My confidence has sank since my weight gain from 4 children, and I think i want to treat myself to a new body for my "40th" bday Do you know any good doctors?
