We all have an inner fat girl...

 By: The Fabulous Mariah HuQ

Ok, so there is not a woman alive who doesn't think of their weight.. Rather we want to lose or gain the bottom-line is Weight is a constant concern in our lives, and rightfully so. Yes it is okay to be heavy if that is what you are comfortable with, but it's not okay to be unhealthy.

What many don't realize or simply ignore is the pertinent fact that being "over weight" does increase your risk for health issues like Heart disease, Diabetes, Sleep Apnea etc.. So the bottomline is Get rid of the inner fat girl, she can cost you your life! I know those words can be harsh but Divas we have to get in shape so we can feel great, and live long healthy lives... Dying at the age of 55 from a clogged artery is not Fabulous therefore, it's not an option..  Soooo, here are a few things I want you to remember

1. Know your reason- Loosing weight is not just about looking great. It's more about being great and being healthy.. According to the American Heart Association by loosing even 5-10 pounds you can significantly reduce your risk for many life altering diseases like Cancer, Diabetes and Heart disease.. So come on Divas, let's make a pack to drop at least 5 UN fabulous pounds together....

2. Exercise is your friend – I know you hate exercise, and think running is for suckers, buuut weight will not move until you put your feet to the pavement.   Once you develop a routine and stick to it exercise actually becomes fun and your body starts to miss that adrenaline rush. I ususally, cut out a picture of Beyonce or Halle and stick it on the treadmill to get me fired up.. A picture of a size 4 jeans helps to. (LOL)  No, you don’t have to kill yourself and run 5 miles every day but starting slow and building up strong wins the race.  Diet alone won’t cut it and you need exercise to build a healthy foundation.  So, we WILL be working out 3-4 times a week…no matter how you grumble.  Exercise is best when you do what you love, not what someone tells  you to do.  So yes, we are trying dancing and running….hey maybe even a pole -dancing class or two (now this is gonna be fun)

3.Water is your  new BFF-Yes its tasteless, no its not fizzy or pretty, but its good for you.I know I know I hate water too but, I make myself drink it, because it flushes out toxins and helps beat that pesky water weight you continuously struggle with.   Yes, you really do need those 64 ounces a day and 100 is even better. If the taste is to bland for you, and you need more flavor, do what i do and keep a box of Crystal light singles in your purse and slip one in each bottle or glass of H2O, you drink. Just keep in mind Soda rots your teeth, has a ton of calories, acid and other un-Fabulous things in it..So, when you think about it water really is your friend!  Plus it makes for pretty skin, nails, and hair and helps us increase our FABULOUSITY! Need I say more?

4. Plan ahead or plan to fail - you know you need to eat 5-6 times a day.  I won’t let you eat 2 times and mess with your metabolism.  You know where you are going and can pack a snack.  Don’t go to town while ordering out just because everyone else is.  Do yourself a favor and get an accountability partner, it will make things alot easier.   You and your partner, can not only work out together but you can plan meals and  goals together and hold one another accountable.

5. Everyone needs a Push.. Getting a push down your road to weightloss is fine rather it's slimfast, Jenny craig, or diet pills, but always consult with your doctor first.. In my opinion physicians are the best diet coaches because they can get you started down the right path and help you along the way. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor about a diet meal plan or appetite suppressant, they will gladly let you know what option is best for you.. If you don't have one check out our pals over at Shape medical (see above link) weightloss and tell Dr Mckenna Mariah sent you, for your Fab discount : )

Hey Maria I just want to say u are so right! I was just telling my husband that although I lost 40 pounds I still feel like I'm fat, and I really need to change mentally.. Physically I have but internally I haven't caught up with all the weightloss. It's great to hear you address this..I think this is what i needed to heat today so I can have a mental check, now that i have lost the weight I want to keep it off. Thanks
